About Furnished Evansville

We came back home.

A small, family-owned hospitality business in Newburgh, Indiana — built one home, one guest, and one good morning at a time.

Hi, I’m Nathan.

That’s our family up at the top — my wife and our five kids on one of our favorite walks. I’m the guy you’ll be texting if you book a stay (or an event) with us.

I’ve worked in real estate since 2013. I’m a licensed broker in Tennessee, a property manager, and general manager of a property management firm — so hospitality and real estate have essentially been my entire career. But the story behind Furnished Evansville isn’t really about a resume.

It started in 2020. We were living in Nashville at the time and bought a second home in Evansville so we could spend more time near family along the river. We didn’t quite expect what came next: walking Main Street in Newburgh on Saturday mornings, fireworks over the Evansville riverfront, family dinners at the same tables we’d grown up at. We kept finding excuses to drive back.

By 2023, the “second home” wasn’t a second home anymore. We packed up the whole crew and moved back to Newburgh full time. Furnished Evansville is what grew out of that move — what started as a single downtown Evansville apartment has become a small portfolio across both cities. Every property is one we own, furnish, and look after personally. Every guest gets my actual cell number. And every home started as a place I’d want our family to stay.

Why book direct

We list our homes on Airbnb and Vrbo too — that’s where most guests start their search. But booking on this site puts you and me in the same conversation. You skip the 12–15% platform service fees the bigger sites tack on, and when you have a question about a late check-in, a crib, a noise concern, or an early-morning flight, you’re texting me directly. Not a help desk a thousand miles away.

That direct line changes how things actually go during a stay. We’ve moved check-in times last-minute, run forgotten phone chargers over from down the street, recommended pediatricians late at night, and arranged flowers for a guest who got bad news while traveling. Those things don’t happen through a third-party platform. They happen because you can reach a real person who lives ten minutes away.

What it feels like to stay

You’ll arrive at a home that was professionally cleaned the morning of your check-in — same trusted team every time, and I walk through after most stays. Self check-in with a smart-lock code means you can land at 2 AM after a delayed flight and just walk in.

The kitchen is stocked with the basics: coffee, oil, salt and pepper, dish soap, paper towels, enough pots and pans to actually cook a meal. The bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, plenty of towels. We’ve thought through the things you forget to pack when you’re traveling with kids or with work bags or in a hurry.

Your pre-arrival message includes the WiFi password, smart-lock code, parking specifics, and a short list of recommendations — the brunch spot we’d send our own family to, the closest playground for the kids, where to grab dinner if you don’t feel like cooking. If you text mid-stay, you usually hear back within a few minutes.

Beyond overnight stays

Our Barn in the Burgh property is the one that does something a little different. It sleeps 12 overnight, and it also hosts daytime events for up to 80 guests — birthday parties, baby and bridal showers, family reunions, small celebrations. We pictured the space being used for both from the start, and we’ve hosted everything from kids’ birthday parties to bridal showers to corporate luncheons there. Event bookings are handled through Check Cherry, and you can see pricing and reserve a date on the Barn page.
